Paratissima 2019

Contamination. This is the watchword of Paratissima, a showcase of works of art executed with very different techniques, both by established authors and by newcomers and which, in 2019, animated the city of Turin for four days. The theme: the multiverse in all its mystery and fascination. But Paratissima, for us, was also a great celebration, and an opportunity to present ourselves to the public for the first time as Are Films.

Creative light painting and listening party, so as to give guests the opportunity to view the most significant parts of our two documentaries, Hummingbirds of the Ocean and Keepers of Nature, but also to experience first-hand what it means to open up new spaces of possibility and sensory enlargement, just like in the metaverse. This is our contribution to Paratissima 2019, which therefore also represented an invaluable networking activity for us.

But there's more: in fact, the guys from Paratissima asked us to make an after movie to tell the event through our eyes and those of those present. The result of this challenge? Lots of fun and the freedom to experiment with unconventional directing techniques to better convey the artistic spirit of Paratissima and fully respect the speed, energy and desire to create by which we have been surrounded. A continuous thread narration, which took place both through day-by-day pills and with a long final montage to unite all sides of Paratissima in one place.
